Privacy Policy

Overview
Bargle ("the App") is a free bar exam study application. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is stored, and your rights.
The short version: Bargle does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on external servers. Everything stays on your device.
Data Storage
All user data (study progress, streaks, dragon status, wardrobe items, and preferences) is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is never transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party.
Sign in with Apple
Bargle offers optional Sign in with Apple authentication. If you choose to sign in:
- Your Apple user identifier is stored locally in the iOS Keychain (encrypted by the operating system).
- Your name and email (if provided by Apple) are stored only in the iOS Keychain, not in the app's database.
- These credentials are used solely to link your local profile and are never transmitted to any external server.
You may also use the App as a guest without providing any personal information.
Data Collection
Bargle does not collect:
- Personal information
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Location data
- Device identifiers
- Advertising data
- Health or fitness data
Third-Party Services
Bargle does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The App does not share data with any third parties.
Notifications
The App may request permission to send local notifications (study reminders and streak alerts). These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers.
Data Deletion
You can delete all of your data at any time:
- In the App: go to Settings and select "Delete Account." This removes all local data including your profile, progress, and streak history.
- Deleting the App from your device removes all stored data, as no data exists outside your device.
If you used Sign in with Apple, you can revoke Bargle's access in iOS Settings under Apple ID, then Sign-In & Security, then Sign in with Apple.
Children's Privacy
Bargle is an educational app designed for law students and legal professionals. It is not directed at children under 13. The App does not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy is updated, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Because Bargle collects no data, changes to this policy are expected to be infrequent.
